Andy Scott ’88
First Coast Auburn Club
In 2013, Andy Scott ’88 set the wheels in motion to establish the First Coast Auburn Club in the Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., area. After working hard to fulfill the club credentials, the First Coast Auburn Club was officially chartered at the Auburn Alumni Association Board of Directors meeting held the weekend of homecoming this year.
“I am so excited about being officially chartered,” Andy said. “A lot of great Auburn people put in a lot of time and effort to get the First Coast Auburn Club off the ground and moving forward. It’s now up to our officers and board to continue to drive this club into the future.”
Andy’s motivation to start a new club was twofold; he knew there was a large number of Auburn alumni and friends in the area who would be enthusiastic about supporting Auburn and the alumni association, but he also wanted to be prepared to support Auburn athletics if and when any AU teams came to play in the area.
“If the football team were to ever come to the Gator Bowl, I wanted to be sure there was a club to welcome everybody and take care of the Auburn Family,” Andy said. “Of course, we’d always rather go to the national championship, but in the event Auburn ever does come to Jacksonville to play, we’ll be ready.”
Andy also looked to the future and knew Jacksonville would be a host site for the first two rounds of the 2015 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
“With the new excitement for Auburn basketball, we are looking forward to having Coach Pearl and the team here in March; our club will be ready,” Andy said.
When he is not working on business as the club’s first president, Andy is an east coast account executive for insightsoftware.com, a company that provides software for reporting, planning and performance management from ERP systems.
In addition to his work with the club, Andy is involved in the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach and Christ Episcopal Church. He and his wife, Kim ’87, have three daughters, Morgan, Katherine and Sydney.
Thank you, Andy, for your persistence, drive and leadership to get the First Coast Auburn Club started—and chartered!

An Auburn Club is for all Auburn alumni and friends. The Auburn Alumni Association is dependent upon members making contributions to provide the necessary financial support to help carry on the services and programs required for an effective Auburn Club Program. According to Section 5 of the Policy for Auburn Clubs included in the by-laws of the Auburn Alumni Association, active membership in an Auburn Club shall be limited to the active members of the Auburn Alumni Association. All club officers must be active members of the National Alumni Association, but the by-laws of any club provide that worthy and loyal friends who are not alumni may become associate members of the local club. All clubs should promote this effort, since Auburn has tremendous non-alumni support from people across the state, region, and nation.
Access Auburn alumni clubs throughout the nation on auburnclubs.org. Auburn Clubs is an important and useful way to stay connected with your alumni.
