Egypt: Gift of the Nile
February 26-March 8, 2009

For many of us, Egypt is a place we longed to visit from the time we start to explore the world in our imaginations. Join us on this 11-day journey as we walk in the footsteps of Pharaohs to the ancient tombs, elegant monuments and great temples of Egypt. World-class Egyptologists will accompany us as we explore monuments that have long inspired visitors, including the Pyramids and Sphinx, the temples of Karnak and Luxor, Abu Simbel, the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque. The power, beauty and sheer volume of what the ancient Egyptians accomplished speaks eloquently to us today.
And while most people visit Egypt expecting to be amazed by the ancient wonders, our itinerary allows us to experience the modern culture of this fascinating land as we dine with an Egyptian family in their home and explore the bustling, contemporary city of Cairo. And along the way, we’ll stay in excellent accommodations — a beautiful Nile cruise ship and excellent, superbly located hotels.
Pricing for the 11-day Egypt expedition includes: five-star accommodations throughout the expedition; a welcome reception; most meals; home-hosted dinner in Egyptian home; four-night Nile cruise aboard deluxe M/S Tu-Ya cruise ship; all scheduled activities and admission fees. Five-day optional Jordan extension available.
Cost (land only): approximately $3,698 per-person, double
occupancy. $948 single supplement.
