Discovery Down Under: Australia & New Zealand

This extraordinary 14-day journey provides a perfect introduction to the natural and cultural treasures of New Zealand and Australia. Admire the stunning beauty of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. While cruising from Townsville to Cairns along the exclusively chartered Coral Princess, snorkel along the Great Barrier Reef and take in the breathtaking rainforests of Far North Queensland. Enjoy unique opportunities to experience the region’s cultures, including a specially arranged meal with local families in New Zealand. An Auckland pre-program option is available.

Itinerary includes: In Queenstown, New Zealand: Three nights in a first-class hotel; Breakfast each morning; Fjords luncheon cruise on stunning Milford Sound; Cruise on beautiful Lake Wakitipu followed by dinner at the Walter Peak Sheep Station; Tour of Queenstown, including a historic old gold town and the Kawarau Bridge, a famous site for bungee jumping; Transfer by air from Queenstown to Christchurch. In Christchurch, New Zealand: One night in a first-class hotel; Breakfast; Half-day tour of Christchurch, a city renowned for its English ambience; Specially arranged dinner in the homes of local families; Transfer by air from Christchurch to Sydney. In Sydney, Australia: Three nights in a first-class hotel; Breakfast each morning; Tour of Sydney with time at leisure to enjoy this cosmopolitan city; Transfer by air from Sydney to Townsville. On board the Coral Princess, a 25-stateroom ship designed specifically to cruise the waters of the Great Barrier Reef: Three-night cruise along the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns to Townsville, with calls at Thetford Reef, Nathan Reef and Dunk Island; Outside staterooms with private bathroom facilities; All meals throughout the cruise, featuring buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner served in a single, unassigned seating; Lecture series focusing on the Great Barrier Reef to be presented by the ship’s naturalist; Opportunities to snorkel at some of the world’s most pristine coral reefs; Rainforest hike on Dunk Island, the only island in Australia with rainforests; In Cairns, Australia: One night in first-class hotel; American breakfast; Visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, a stunning interpretation of the Aboriginal culture and way of life.
