The MAIN Event was an AUsome success....

The party was held at the Auburn Alumni Center on Friday, November 7, 2008. Musical entertainment was provided by DJ Soul of Atlanta’s Urban Legends DJs. Guests enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres, fine wine and beer, and fellowship with friends. Justice Harold Melton of the Georgia State Supreme Court and Dr. Shirley Scott-Harris, the 2008 Auburn Alumni Association Minority Achievement Award recipient joined us for the evening and AU graduate and author Thom Gossom signed his newly released book, Walk-On, before hitting the dance floor. Even Aubie came to show off a few moves only a Tiger could do. AU alums spent a memorable evening dancing, eating – and reconnecting.
Auburn University President and Mrs. Jay Gogue hosted the MAIN Event Brunch Saturday, November 8, 2008 in the formal gardens of their home. Guests enjoyed a hot breakfast of egg pastries, shrimp and grits, fresh fruit, muffins, and biscuits. Special guest and keynote The Honorable Harold Melton, justice of the Georgia State Supreme Court, delivered an entertaining, yet motivating speech reminiscing about his days on the Plains and reminding us how far we have come and what we can continue to do to make Auburn an even better place for future generations. The students, administrators, faculty, alumni and friends really enjoyed this special time together.
