What a great honor it is to serve as president of your Auburn Alumni Association. It is also a great time for me to serve because it gives my wife, Laura (Pharmacy ’86), and me more opportunities to see our three children, all students at Auburn! In my lifetime, I cannot remember a better time to connect or re-connect with Auburn. 2014 welcomed the largest freshman class in AU history and they collectively averaged an ACT score of more than 27. If you have been on campus lately, you have noticed the many new residence halls, buildings and walkways to better serve our students. Our 2014 football team is off to a great start under the direction of Coach Malzahn, and our basketball program under new Coach Bruce Pearl is experiencing more excitement than ever in recent history.

Our Auburn Alumni Association is in excellent condition and our 92 clubs across the nation are more active than ever. Our association is also about to experience a major change with the retirement of Dr. Debbie Shaw. Dr. Shaw has led the association well and built it into arguably THE best alumni association in the country. We will never replace Debbie, but you have my commitment that we will find the very best person to fill this important position. A big Thank You to Debbie!

I would also like to congratulate our past president Bill Stone on an outstanding two-year term. Bill has done a great job and has helped change for the better our local and national dues structure and unify membership contributions. Thank you, Bill Stone!

As we move forward into 2015, I encourage you to connect in meaningful ways back to your university. Of course one of the best ways is to volunteer and join your local club and all the Auburn activities on the local level. Also, if you have not already done so, I encourage you to purchase a life membership and to join our Circle of Excellence Society, which will help fund scholarships to new Auburn students.

Please feel free to reach out to Debbie, the alumni affairs staff, me or one of the board members if we can help you in any way. We want to always look for ways to improve your Auburn Alumni Association and provide the best service and opportunities that you deserve and, as Auburn alumni, have come to expect.

WAR EAGLE!
