Privacy Policy

ALUM Network
The Auburn Alumni Association is committed to preserving the privacy of its alumni.  Proprietary and personal information in our ALUM network is password protected and only available to registered users.  It is not openly available to the public or even to all alumni.

Auburn University alumni have elected to post their names, graduation years, and email addresses in our ALUM Network so that friends and associates can contact them easily.  This is voluntary.  If you are listed in the network and prefer that your information be deleted, please email us at Kate Hancock '07.  From inside the ALUM Network, you may opt out of receiving future e-communication by checking the appropriate box.  If you choose to participate in an online activity, we will not require more information from you than is reasonably necessary.
 
Records
Our alumni database is for the sole use of the Office of Alumni Affairs, Office of Development, on-campus units (at our discretion), and Affinity partners.  We do not sell, rent or trade alumni information with any organization that isn’t directly affiliated with us.  All corporations and affinity partners must sign a non-disclosure agreement which limits the use of our contact records to approved mailings only. To opt out of receiving communication from Auburn, the Auburn Alumni Association or our partners, you may contact our records desk at 334-844-ALUM or email to aurecords@auburn.edu.

Affinity Partners
We have formed relationships with companies to provide certain benefits and services to alumni, and to generate revenue that helps finance some of the programs the alumni association provides.  These benefits and services are not generally offered to the public. In these cases:

  • The partner must agree to use the information only for the purpose approved by the Vice President of Alumni Affairs.
  • If a project results in the publication of directories, all alumni, prior to publication, must be provided the opportunity to decide whether he or she wishes to be excluded.

The information shared with partners is necessary to contact alumni and primarily includes name, address, and phone number. 

Web Browsing
If you visit our site, we may collect and store your computer’s browser type, operating system, date and time you access the site, and various pages you visited.  We track these things to help us understand what features of the site are most appealing to visitors.  This information helps us improve our website for the people who visit most often.
